What you will do

• Perform financial and statistical analysis of complex bond submissions.
• Independently make underwriting decisions for new business and renewals within delegated authority.
• Resolve challenging bond issues through direct communication with agents and insureds.
• Ensure adequate risk pricing through proper classification and adherence to company policies.
• Present underwriting recommendations to management and participate in agency marketing visits.
• Mentor and train less experienced underwriters and trainees.

Requirements

• 2-4 years of underwriting experience or equivalent related work experience (credit modeling, accounting, financial statement analysis, construction).
• Keen knowledge of Suretyship and ability to interpret relevant laws.
• Strong analytical, oral, and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with PC software applications.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
• College degree preferred.
