Senior Bond Underwriter (Hybrid)

Location: Hybrid role in Short Hills, New Jersey.

Salary: USD $87,000–$113,000 per year.

What you will do

• Evaluate complex bond submissions through financial, credit, and statistical analysis.
• Underwrite new business and renewal contracts within delegated authority levels.
• Resolve challenging bond issues with agents, insureds, and internal employees.
• Develop underwriting recommendations, ensure accurate risk pricing, and follow bond policies, procedures, rate filings, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in agency marketing visits and underwriting meetings while promoting company products and services.
• Advise management and bond personnel, recommend process improvements, and mentor or train less experienced underwriters and trainees.

Requirements

• Excellent analytical, oral, and written communication skills.
• Keen knowledge of suretyship and the ability to interpret insurance products and laws.
• Knowledge of PC adaptation of software applications.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• 2–4 years of underwriting experience or equivalent related experience in credit modeling, accounting, financial statement analysis, construction, or a related area.
