Production Underwriter / Senior Production Underwriter (Insurance)

Location: Remote in Colorado, United States; primarily inside-office based with occasional travel to agency partners and up to 5% automobile travel.

Salary: USD $96,000–$144,000 per year.

What you will do

• Work with agents to write new profitable business, achieve agency goals, support agency continuity, and assist with underwriting overflow.
• Market and underwrite small business and large accounts according to underwriting criteria, classifications, standards, and philosophy.
• Make consistent underwriting and pricing decisions while providing effective communication and service through digital technology.
• Monitor agency results, follow up on growth and profitability opportunities, and ensure compliance with company initiatives, procedures, and policies.
• Build professional relationships with agents, regional underwriting teams, claims teams, and corporate departments.
• Promote use of Selective systems including CLAS, PLUS, and e-Select; support training, book roll opportunities, and regional underwriting coverage as needed.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of underwriting experience.
• Highly developed marketing skills and an entrepreneurial, hands-on approach.
• Superior communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Strong organizational skills, self-motivation, proactivity, flexibility, independence, and focus on results.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internal business software.
• Valid state-issued driver's license in good standing and ability to drive an automobile.
• All duties must comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

Nice to have

• College degree.
• At least 3 years of agency management experience.
