Software Engineer 3 (DevOps)

Location: Annapolis Junction, Maryland, United States; on-site. United States citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance with an agency-appropriate polygraph are required.

Salary: $86.20–$136.27 per hour.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, deploy, document, maintain, and enhance complex software systems.
• Build and maintain a distributed metrics and monitoring solution for HPC infrastructure.
• Develop event-driven and data-driven analytics, algorithms, database applications, and cloud-based solutions.
• Debug software, resolve defects, integrate systems, and monitor operational performance.
• Collaborate with system and hardware engineers to derive requirements and address performance and interface constraints.
• Provide technical leadership, coordinate development teams, and ensure software quality and process compliance.

Requirements

• United States citizenship and TS/SCI clearance with an agency-appropriate polygraph.
• Master’s degree plus five years of relevant software engineering experience, bachelor’s degree plus seven years, or nine years of relevant experience.
• Recent software development experience with Rust and Python.
• Linux CLI and tools, Bash scripting, Git, CI/CD, and GitLab CI experience.
• Experience with Splunk, Syslog-ng, rsyslog, Kafka, Ansible, and infrastructure-as-code principles.
• Experience with software design, testing, relational and non-relational databases, Unix, and distributed systems.

Nice to have

• Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite, including Jira and Confluence.
• Experience with Elasticsearch.
