Software Engineer, Development Tools (C++/Rust)

Salary: $150,000–$250,000 annual base salary, plus eligible discretionary bonus

What you will do

• Design, build, and enhance tools supporting developer productivity, systems infrastructure, and DevOps practices.
• Contribute to the architecture and scalability of build systems such as Bazel, Buck2, and CMake.
• Automate developer workflows and improve CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and deployment automation.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for developer tooling and systems.
• Measure and optimize build speed, failure rates, deployment frequency, MTTR, and time-to-market.
• Collaborate with product development, infrastructure, platform, security, and QA teams while mentoring engineers and improving engineering standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of experience in software development, infrastructure engineering, or DevOps.
• Strong programming skills in C++, Rust, and/or Python.
• Deep experience with build tools, dependency management, and packaging, including Bazel, Buck2, or CMake.
• Strong experience with CI/CD, Git-based version control, Docker, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Strong understanding of Linux/Unix systems and experience optimizing performance and scalability in large, complex codebases.

Nice to have

• Experience with GCP or AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with Conda, Rattler, or Pixi.
