Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift

Location: Downers Grove, Illinois, United States; onsite, 2nd shift

Pay rate: $36.00 per hour

What you will do

• Maintain and repair plant production equipment using manuals, schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and basic control-system issues, including ladder logic and control circuits.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on machinery, boilers, HVAC, refrigeration, chillers, fire protection systems, and building infrastructure.
• Use hand tools, power tools, welders, lathes, grinders, mills, and electrical testing equipment safely.
• Complete measurements, diagnostics, maintenance documentation, work orders, and system updates in Microsoft Office, SAP, and email.
• Coordinate with maintenance, production, quality, warehouse, EHS, contractors, and service providers while following safety, HACCP, GMP, SQF, and food-quality standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic electrical training or equivalent experience and mechanical troubleshooting and repair experience.
• Ability to read equipment manuals, schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation, and interpret ladder logic and basic control circuits.
• Safe use of hand and power tools, basic computer proficiency, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, perform physically demanding work, lift up to 50 pounds, and push or pull up to 1,500 pounds.
• Ability to work onsite in Downers Grove, Illinois, on the 2nd shift, with overtime and weekend work as needed.

Nice to have

• Two or more years of experience maintaining manufacturing or production equipment.
• Experience with boilers, HVAC, refrigeration, chillers, facility infrastructure, PLCs, controls, or automated manufacturing equipment.
• Welding, machining, fabrication, forklift certification, food manufacturing, HACCP, GMP, SQF, CMMS, or SAP maintenance experience.
