Maintenance Technician (Manufacturing)

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States; onsite manufacturing facility role

Pay: $25.00–$30.00 per hour

What you will do

• Troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain operations and production equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve issues with welders, torches, saws, metal finishing equipment, hoists, conveyors, ovens, powder-coating systems, and overhead roll doors.
• Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and plant electrical and mechanical systems, including motors, distribution systems, HVAC, VFD drives, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and air compressors.
• Perform electrical maintenance, circuit movement, mechanical troubleshooting, and equipment rebuilds.
• Support the preventative maintenance program, 5S standards, housekeeping, and safety practices to reduce unscheduled downtime.
• Travel as needed to secure necessary parts or tooling.

Requirements

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Experience or education in machine operation and repair; a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Welding competency and knowledge of welding systems.
• Ability to work with 480 volts, read mechanical prints, technical drawings, manuals, work orders, measurements, and mathematical information.
• Ability to operate repair tools, welders, band saws, acetylene torches, lift trucks, and aerial lifts; a lift truck operator license is preferred, with training available.
• Ability to lift and maneuver more than 50 pounds and perform highly active physical work involving standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and climbing ladders.
