Maintenance Mechanic A (12-Hour Overnight Shifts) (Manufacturing)

Location: Melrose Park, IL, United States; onsite 12-hour overnight shifts with overtime and weekend work as required.

Hourly rate: $30–$32 per hour, plus a $1.75 per-hour overnight shift differential.

What you will do

• Perform preventative, scheduled, and emergency maintenance on manufacturing equipment and systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic machinery in an aseptic environment.
• Read and apply blueprints, schematics, prints, and operating manuals.
• Perform building maintenance and skilled-trade work, including plumbing, pipefitting, carpentry, electronics, welding, HVAC, and controls.
• Document completed work according to current cGMP standards and report faulty operations or unusual conditions.
• Support other mechanics, maintain orderly work areas, and contribute ideas for maintenance process improvements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; apprenticeship or applicable certifications are highly preferred.
• At least 3 years of maintenance mechanic experience in a regulated, technical work environment.
• Working knowledge of GMPs, lockout/tagout, and arc flash requirements.
• Basic computer skills and ability to work with MS Office and SAP.
• Ability to stand or kneel for extended periods, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• English proficiency is required for speaking, reading, writing, and understanding workplace policies, training materials, and communications. Aseptic gowning certification must be achieved.
