Maintenance Mechanic A (12-Hour Overnight Shift)

Location: Melrose Park, Illinois, United States; onsite, 12-hour overnight shift

Salary: $30–$32 per hour, plus a $1.75 per-hour overnight shift differential

What you will do

• Perform preventive maintenance and emergency or scheduled repairs on manufacturing equipment and systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic machinery in a sterile, aseptic environment.
• Perform general building maintenance and skilled-trade work involving plumbing, pipefitting, carpentry, electronics, welding, and related systems.
• Read and apply blueprints, mechanical and electrical schematics, prints, and operating manuals.
• Document maintenance activities in accordance with current cGMP standards and report faulty operations or defective materials.
• Support other mechanics, complete required training, and contribute maintenance process improvement suggestions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; apprenticeship or applicable certifications are highly preferred.
• At least 3 years of maintenance mechanic experience in a regulated, technical work environment.
• Working knowledge of GMPs, lockout/tagout, and arc flash safety practices.
• Basic computer skills and ability to work with MS Office and SAP.
• Ability to stand or kneel for extended periods, climb ladders, lift up to 50 pounds, and work overtime or weekends when required.
• Effective spoken and written English is required, including the ability to understand workplace policies, procedures, training materials, and communications. Ability to achieve aseptic gowning certification is also required.
