Senior Electrical Engineer (Embedded)

Location: Longmont, Colorado, USA; requires some international and domestic travel, typically 1–2 trips per year lasting 1–3 weeks.

Salary: USD 100,000–140,000 per year; an expected range of USD 110,000–140,000 per year is also stated. Eligible employees may receive a profit-sharing bonus targeted at 10%.

What you will do

• Develop new, variant, and sustaining products while supporting existing product lines.
• Own hardware and firmware design elements, including schematic capture, board layout, and embedded software development.
• Serve as Project Engineer and coordinate cross-functional activities required for successful product launches.
• Create technical documentation, engineering procedures, test plans, test reports, and production and vendor design documentation.
• Investigate customer issues with Customer Service, determine root causes, and identify solutions.
• Work with Sales, Marketing, Purchasing, international teams, and customers to understand needs and maintain suitable vendors.

Requirements

• BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent technical discipline.
• 4+ years of product and technology development experience.
• Significant experience with firmware, software, hardware design, ECAD, schematic capture, and board layout.
• Embedded systems development experience with C/C++, modern coding and debugging tools, and hands-on hardware work.
• Experience designing and testing products for regulatory standards such as safety and EMC.
• Ability to prioritize work, coordinate multiple projects, communicate effectively, and travel domestically and internationally as required.

Nice to have

• Experience with OrCAD design tools.
• Proficiency with RTOS systems.
• Experience with vacuum technologies or semiconductor manufacturing.
• Interest in applying AI tools to hardware development.
