Senior Embedded Software Engineer (Robotics)

Location: Full-time, on-site at the Sunnyvale, California HQ, United States

Salary: $150,000–$180,000 per year, plus stock options

What you will do

• Lead software system design and subsystem development for a new wearable hardware product from prototyping through production readiness.
• Interface with IMU sensors over SPI and I2C, process real-time gyroscope and accelerometer data, and implement calibration and sensor fusion.
• Develop electronic image stabilization algorithms using IMU motion data and apply correction transforms to video frames.
• Synchronize IMU and video timestamps and integrate the stabilization pipeline into the embedded system or host application.
• Optimize real-time, low-latency performance on NVIDIA Jetson and ARM SoC hardware.
• Design validation procedures and debug sensor noise, frame drops, timing misalignment, latency, jitter, and stabilization accuracy.

Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of software engineering experience, including shipping software on hardware products.
• Hands-on experience with IMU or MEMS sensors, real-time systems, and low-latency data processing.
• Strong proficiency in C and C++.
• Experience with SPI, I2C, and UART communication protocols.
• Understanding of DSP, sensor fusion techniques, and Linux-based embedded systems or RTOS such as FreeRTOS or Zephyr.

Nice to have

• Experience with image or video processing pipelines.
• Experience in robotics, drones, action cameras, or autonomous vehicles.
