TL;DR

What you will do

  • Drive HDL system design, implementation, documentation, and verification.
  • Build electronics control systems for quantum computers using advanced hardware solutions.
  • Develop FPGA and embedded real-time control capabilities, including firmware and software understanding.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers, software engineers, physicists, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Support proof-of-concept development, feasibility discussions, project planning, risk management, and progress reporting.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of high-performance electronics design experience across digital, analog, and embedded systems.
  • Strong experience designing, developing, testing, and verifying digital logic using HDL tools, including Verilog, VHDL, or SystemVerilog.
  • Knowledge of electronics circuit theory, programming, architecture design, PCB schematic and layout using CAD tools, and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with FPGAs, embedded software for real-time systems, spectrum analysers, oscilloscopes, VNAs, and electronics debugging.
  • At least a 2.1 BEng/BSc degree in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Strong documentation, communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills, including experience working with suppliers and contractors.

Nice to have

  • Background in RF engineering, research, metrology, or instrumentation.
  • Understanding of signal integrity, high-speed digital design, and EMC.
  • Experience with C, Python, MATLAB, or LabVIEW.
  • Team or project management experience and a pragmatic approach to design decisions.
