TL;DR
Lead Hardware Design Engineer (Embedded): Developing electronic products and system-level solutions across consumer, defence and security, and health and life sciences sectors with an accent on analogue and digital circuit design, embedded technologies, and professional EDA workflows. Focus on designing for regulatory compliance, delivering products across the full lifecycle, and solving unfamiliar engineering challenges hands-on from concept through deployment.

Location: Global Innovation and Technology Centre, Melbourn, United Kingdom. Full-time onsite role. Candidates must be able to gain UK SC security clearance, which in practice requires sole UK nationality.

What you will do

  • Develop electronic products and elegant system architectures for client projects.
  • Perform detailed analogue and digital electronic design using professional EDA workflows.
  • Work with embedded technologies including microcontrollers, SoCs, SoMs, and potentially FPGAs.
  • Contribute embedded software, RTL, and related hardware development activities.
  • Support the full product lifecycle from concept generation through product release and deployment.
  • Collaborate with clients and interdisciplinary teams across consumer, defence and security, and health and life sciences projects.

Requirements

  • Proven experience developing electronic system architectures and implementing designs through professional workflows.
  • Broad knowledge of analogue and digital circuit design and associated EDA techniques.
  • Strong understanding of embedded technologies, with related embedded software, RTL, or comparable skills.
  • Experience delivering designs across the full product lifecycle and into service.
  • Understanding of UK, EU, and US regulatory requirements and experience designing for compliance with applicable standards.
  • Degree in electronic engineering or a related subject, plus strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

  • Existing UK SC security clearance.
  • Experience with motion control, digital audio, software-defined radio, or high-speed networking.

Hiring process

  • Initial call with a technology recruiter.
  • Two 60-minute competency or technical interviews, covering both formats.
