Staff FPGA Engineer (Quantum Computing)

What you will do

• Design and implement FPGA-based signal processing and control functions from system-level requirements.
• Develop RTL modules and real-time control logic using Vivado, Verilog or VHDL, IP Catalog, and Block Design.
• Model and simulate signal-processing and control algorithms in Python and/or MATLAB/Simulink.
• Implement and test firmware for high-speed waveform generation and digital control loops.
• Perform unit- and system-level testing, verification, debugging, and documentation of test results.
• Architect critical control functions and collaborate with hardware and software development teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
• At least 10 years of hands-on FPGA development experience, including design, verification, and debugging of complex FPGA-based systems.
• Detailed knowledge of DDC/DUC, DDS, FIR/IIR filters, and FPGA-based signal-processing techniques.
• Strong FPGA verification and SystemVerilog experience, including code coverage, functional coverage, and tools such as Synopsys, Cadence, and ModelSim.
• Experience with Xilinx UltraScale+ MPSoC devices and SPI, I2C, UART, and USB interfaces.
• Proficiency with JTAG, Integrated Logic Analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers.

Nice to have

• ASIC design and tapeout experience.
• Experience implementing PID, feedforward, or MIMO control algorithms in FPGA firmware.
• High-speed interface design and verification experience with ADC/DAC, DDR3/4 MIG, JESD204B, and 10 Gigabit Ethernet.
• Working knowledge of embedded Linux and Linux device drivers.
• Experience with GitLab for automated firmware builds and validation.
