TL;DR
FPGA Engineer - Consultant (FPGA): Designing and developing FPGA firmware and technology solutions across the full product lifecycle, from requirements capture through testing and delivery, with an accent on VHDL/Verilog development and rapid prototyping. Focus on implementing DSP algorithms, developing proof-of-concepts and working prototypes, and solving challenges in radar, communications, and software-defined radio applications.

What you will do

  • Explore pioneering concepts with scientists, engineers, and designers in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Capture requirements and design, develop, document, test, and deliver FPGA-based technology solutions.
  • Develop FPGA firmware using VHDL or Verilog with toolchains such as Vivado or Quartus.
  • Work across projects ranging from proof-of-concept developments to working prototypes.
  • Contribute to rapid design, development, and implementation of solutions for defence and security applications.

Requirements

  • Relevant degree and a strong record of academic excellence.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing technology solutions in FPGA firmware.
  • Technical capability with VHDL or Verilog and FPGA development toolchains.
  • Previous defence-sector experience is advantageous.
  • Must be eligible for UK Security Clearance.
  • This role is not eligible for UKVI visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Digital Signal Processing algorithm development.
  • DSP or system modelling in MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Electronics development or embedded software development with C/C++ and Linux.
  • Experience with radar, communications applications, or Software Defined Radios.
