Senior Automation & Controls Engineer

What you will do

• Own equipment design from concept and requirements definition through commissioning.
• Design electrical and fluid-system schematics in EPlan according to applicable standards.
• Write and debug maintainable, scalable PLC software in TwinCAT.
• Program industrial controls hardware, including VFDs, motor starters, PLCs, motion systems, and robots.
• Develop functional HMIs for diagnostics and troubleshooting.
• Work with end users, vendors, and manufacturers to ensure design intent and source suitable hardware and solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing, testing, or R&D; 7+ years preferred.
• 5+ years of PLC programming experience.
• Experience or familiarity with PLC systems, structured-text object-oriented programming under IEC 61131-3, and EPlan schematic design.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems and apply industrial safety standards.
• Must meet U.S. export-control eligibility requirements as a U.S. Person or be eligible to obtain an applicable U.S. export license.

Nice to have

• Experience with EPlan ProPanel, ISO 13849, ANSI B11, IEC 61508, UL508A, NFPA 70, and NFPA 79.
• Knowledge of EtherCAT, Profinet, IO-Link, or similar industrial protocols.
• Experience with hazard risk assessments and mitigation plans.
