Principal Engineer-Quality (Semiconductor)

Location: Garden Grove, California, United States; domestic and international travel required for up to 25% of working time.

Annual base salary: $75,000–$232,000, plus restricted stock units and quarterly bonus payments.

What you will do

• Lead supplier quality initiatives for raw materials and components across the global supply chain.
• Investigate supplier-related quality issues through root cause analysis, containment, corrective actions, and preventive actions.
• Monitor supplier scorecards, identify improvement opportunities, and drive supplier development programs.
• Conduct supplier quality and process audits and ensure corrective actions are implemented and closed.
• Collaborate with Quality Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Purchasing, suppliers, and business units across multiple sites.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship in supplier quality methods, problem-solving, and quality system improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, materials science, physics, chemistry, statistics, or a related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of quality engineering, supplier quality, manufacturing quality, or supplier management experience in semiconductor, aerospace, electronics, automotive, or another regulated manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of materials science and mechatronics engineering principles.
• Experience with supplier quality initiatives, performance management, audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.
• Ability to solve complex technical and operational problems using structured methodologies and to influence suppliers and cross-functional teams.
• Must provide proof of US citizenship, permanent US residency, or protected-individual status under US export-control requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with stamping, forming, tooling, plating, wire crimping, soldering, and special process audits.
• Knowledge of GD&T, J-STD-001, J-STD-002, SPC, RCCA, and supplier development methodologies.
• Understanding of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100, VDA 6.3, JEDEC, IPC, and Military Standard requirements.
• ASQ CQE, CQA, CMQ/OE, or equivalent professional certification.
• Experience working with global suppliers in high-volume manufacturing and managing multiple priorities.
