Grant-Funded Care Specialist Pool

Location: United States work authorization required; employment visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $25.00 per hour; part-time.

What you will do

• Support students identified through CARE Connection referrals by addressing academic, personal, and social barriers to persistence.
• Research student concerns and develop, implement, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate support services and interventions.
• Build collaborative relationships with students, faculty, staff, campus departments, and community partners.
• Provide direct services and referrals, including guidance on financial aid, disability services, counseling, tutoring, and academic advising.
• Conduct interviews and assessments, establish goals with students, and develop appropriate action plans.
• Document outreach, triage, interventions, engagement, referrals, and follow-up in electronic records systems.

Requirements

• Master’s degree.
• Three years of related experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to establish cooperative relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community partners.
• Ability to use student-centered motivational interviewing and solution-focused approaches to promote student persistence.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; this position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Student Development or Student Affairs, or Social Work.
• Knowledge of local social services and community resource agencies.
• Experience supporting at-risk student populations.
