Open Rank Faculty in Medical Education Program (Part-time)

What you will do

• Teach clinical skills to medical students and provide constructive feedback on performance.
• Assess students during clinical examinations, including OSCEs.
• Prepare for teaching sessions using plans and resources provided by course directors.
• Advise, mentor, and provide academic support to students.
• Facilitate weekly small-group discussions based on clinical cases, public health, professionalism, and ethics.
• Participate in faculty development for clinical teaching and related curriculum components.

Requirements

• MD or DO degree and clinical experience.
• Familiarity with regional standards of care.
• Successful collaboration and interdisciplinary work in a medical education environment.
• Eligibility for appointment as Assistant or Associate Professor in the interdisciplinary Department of Medical Education.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and the ability to analyze information, solve problems, communicate effectively, and manage competing priorities.
• Ability to supervise, advise, train, and assess peers and students; familiarity with FERPA.

Nice to have

• Specialty board certification.
• Eligibility for a California medical license.
• Experience in higher education, medical education, or a university environment.
• Experience with LCME accreditation processes and requirements.
