Medical Assistant Instructor - Per-Diem

Location: Tucson, AZ, USA; campus-based position

Compensation: $24–$27 per hour

What you will do

• Deliver engaging, hands-on medical assisting instruction and provide technological and academic training.
• Develop and teach lesson plans aligned with syllabus objectives, student abilities, learning styles, and individual accommodations.
• Evaluate student progress using cooperative learning, reports, teamwork, and other assessment methods.
• Provide ongoing student advisement and academic counseling.
• Identify students facing barriers to achievement or at risk of leaving the course, and refer them to campus leadership or student services.
• Collaborate with campus departments, participate in academic committees, and follow company, state, Department of Education, and accreditation requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum high school diploma; advanced education or a college degree is preferred, with equivalent experience considered.
• At least three years of hands-on clinical experience as a medical assistant.
• Current knowledge of medical assistant practice and the ability to mentor a diverse student population.
• Strong interpersonal, oral presentation, and communication skills; ability to work independently.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.

Nice to have

• Graduation from an accredited medical assisting program.
• Certified Medical Assistant credential such as RMA, CMA, or NRCMA.
• Experience with learning management systems such as Canvas, Blackboard, or Moodle.
