Maintenance Mechanic (Packaging Manufacturing)

Location: Aurora, Illinois, United States; onsite, 2nd shift, Monday–Thursday, 10-hour shifts

Salary: $30–$32 per hour, plus an annual incentive plan and benefits

What you will do

• Perform preventive maintenance on production machinery and mechanical equipment.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, disassemble, repair, overhaul, and rebuild plant machines.
• Control downtime by communicating equipment issues and corrective actions across departments.
• Determine dimensional changes, fabricate simple parts and tools, and adjust functional components and control instruments.
• Maintain equipment, parts, and supply inventories and perform facility maintenance.
• Prepare maintenance reports, document irregularities and repairs, follow safety procedures, and participate in continuous improvement.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent highly desired.
• Five years of maintenance experience highly preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of machine operations and mechanical functions.
• Ability to read blueprints, electrical schematics, manuals, work orders, and repair parts requests.
• Ability to use measuring equipment including tape measures, micrometers, calipers, scales, and VOMs.
• Ability to work onsite in a production environment, maintain constant safety awareness, and work overtime or weekends when required.
