Substation CADD Technician (Revit/BIM)

Location: Calgary, Alberta; Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; or Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

Salary: CAD 47,355–67,650 per year for Vancouver, BC

What you will do

• Develop detailed 3D models of substation facilities and equipment using Autodesk Revit.
• Produce engineering drawings for physical layouts, control buildings, grounding, conduits, foundations, grading, schematics, wiring, equipment, and cable schedules.
• Generate coordinated 2D construction drawings from 3D BIM models.
• Support model coordination, clash detection, and design reviews.
• Collaborate with engineers and designers across multiple disciplines and offices.
• Advance BIM and digital delivery practices across the Power Delivery group.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience preparing substation CADD layouts and design drawings from engineering concepts.
• Technical or associate diploma/degree, relevant certification, or equivalent education and experience.
• Proficiency with 3D design software and document management systems.
• Strong Autodesk Revit and 3D modeling experience; familiarity with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
• Ability to collaborate with local and remote project teams.
• Strong communication, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills, with a basic understanding of engineering or architectural concepts.

Nice to have

• Experience in electrical substations, utilities, power delivery, or related infrastructure.
• Experience transitioning 2D CAD workflows to BIM/Revit-based environments.
• Interest in power systems, substations, and energy infrastructure.
