BIM Designer - Wet Utilities - Group (Civil 3D)

Location: Toronto, Canada; remote workplace

What you will do

• Develop detailed Civil 3D models for storm drainage, sanitary sewers, water distribution, culverts, tanks, catch basins, roadways, grading, surfaces, pavements, alignments, profiles, assemblies, and corridors.
• Create and manage data shortcuts and drawing references in multi-user environments using Autodesk Construction Cloud and Autodesk Desktop Connector.
• Coordinate existing, staged, and proposed utility, site servicing, grading, and drainage designs with civil, utility, and roadway engineers.
• Produce plan, profile, cross-section, and sheet files for design, construction, and regulatory submissions.
• Customize object, label, pipe network, part list, and sheet set styles to meet project standards.
• Perform interdisciplinary clash detection, maintain model integrity through design revisions and construction phasing, and improve BIM workflows with automation and scripting.

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Geomatics, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of civil modeling experience, including at least 3 years using Civil 3D, with expertise in underground utilities and road or surface design.
• Mandatory proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Autodesk Desktop Connector, and Bluebeam Revu.
• Experience modeling stormwater management systems, pressure and gravity-fed networks, and large-scale roadway and pavement infrastructure.
• Knowledge of Ontario and Canadian civil, road, and utility standards, including OPSD, OTM Book 7, MOE/MTO guidelines, Transport Canada, and ICAO requirements.
• Strong coordination, documentation, version control, communication, and prioritization skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Dynamo for Civil 3D, InfraWorks, Navisworks Manage, Python scripting, Bentley InRoads/OpenRoads, or Autodesk Inventor.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and hydrologic modeling, surface drainage, detention systems, and flood control compliance.
• Experience integrating GIS, survey, and as-built data into coordinated BIM/CAD environments.
