Electrical Engineer II

Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada

Salary: CAD 80,000–CAD 105,000 per year

What you will do

• Design electrical power, lighting, grounding and bonding, special systems, raceways, cable trays, and related building support systems.
• Perform illumination, power load, conduit and wire sizing, short-circuit, voltage-drop, and other engineering calculations.
• Develop narratives, reports, drawings, one-line diagrams, schedules, installation details, and specifications for construction.
• Coordinate designs with architects, engineers, designers, manufacturers, vendors, and construction trade partners.
• Conduct field investigations and support construction activities, including RFIs, submittal reviews, design bulletins, punch lists, and progress reports.
• Contribute to quality checks, project programming, master planning, and mentorship of designers and electrical interns.

Requirements

• ABET-accredited bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, architectural engineering, or engineering technology.
• At least 3 years of experience.
• Completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam.
• Experience with electrical lighting, power, and special systems design and engineering calculations.
• Knowledge of applicable electrical and building codes and standards, including NFPA, IESNA, UL, OSHA, and IEEE.
• Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams, clients, external partners, vendors, manufacturers, and construction trades.

Nice to have

• Relevant design firm experience.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and BIM software.
• Basic knowledge of GMP manufacturing environments.
• Experience leading field surveys and preparing field reports.
• Ability to travel for client development and project execution.
