HVAC Design Engineer (Entry Level)

What you will do

• Design basic-complexity HVAC and mechanical utility systems, including airside, chilled water, heating hot water, steam, natural gas, and compressed air systems.
• Prepare design and construction deliverables, including plans, schedules, installation details, reports, and specifications.
• Perform envelope, load, pressure drop, utility, and other engineering calculations.
• Conduct field investigations and integrate designs with existing systems and structures.
• Coordinate designs with clients, architects, engineers, designers, manufacturers, trade partners, and other project stakeholders.
• Use Microsoft Office, Bluebeam Revu, BIM software, Revit, and AutoCAD across studies, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration.

Requirements

• ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a mechanical focus.
• 0–3 years of experience, preferably in a design firm setting.
• Fundamental experience with engineering calculations and HVAC, mechanical utility, and piping system design.
• Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams and support field surveys and reporting.
• Professional work location is Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
• Registration for or completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam.
• LEED, WELL, or another sustainable design accreditation, pursuit, or experience with sustainable design.
