Director of Electrical Engineering

Location: Roanoke, VA, USA; hybrid

Salary: $100,000–$145,000 USD per year, plus performance-based bonuses

What you will do

• Lead, supervise, guide, and train a multidisciplinary team of electrical engineers.
• Develop electrical system designs, calculations, equipment selections, reports, studies, and project specifications.
• Design and evaluate electrical systems for healthcare, higher education, commercial, local government, and other building projects.
• Survey existing buildings and document electrical systems while researching code compliance.
• Coordinate work with other disciplines, provide construction administration, and perform design QA/QC.
• Serve as the primary client contact and support business development, client relations, and project interviews.

Requirements

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in electrical design.
• Hands-on experience with AutoCAD, Revit, MS Office, and engineering calculation and performance simulation software.
• Familiarity with electrical codes, standards, and design guidelines.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, effective prioritization, and the ability to work in a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment.

• Professional Engineer license.
