TL;DR
Process Engineer (Advanced Materials Manufacturing): Analyzing, developing, and managing plastic and rubber manufacturing processes at an advanced materials facility with an accent on process parameters, material properties, and process control. Focus on troubleshooting production issues, implementing continuous improvements, managing bills of materials and process plans, and supporting aerospace-related manufacturing.

Location: Amesbury, Massachusetts, USA; onsite. This position is restricted to U.S. citizens because of U.S. federal government contracts.

Salary: $68,665–$117,700 per year.

What you will do

  • Analyze plastic and rubber material manufacturing techniques, procedures, and processing conditions.
  • Evaluate material properties, manage process conditions, and ensure compliance with process control documents.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing problems and implement corrective measures.
  • Develop processing conditions, process plans, bills of materials, procedures, and specifications.
  • Provide costing support for new and existing products and train operations personnel.
  • Develop and execute continuous improvement plans and processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in plastics engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemistry, industrial engineering, materials science, materials engineering, or polymer chemistry.
  • 1–3 years of industry experience in manufacturing or product development.
  • Ability to evaluate, develop, and manage process parameters for product manufacturing.
  • High attention to detail and current computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to obtain a Department of Defense security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma continuous improvement programs; Green Belt certification is a plus.
  • Knowledge of CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Solid Edge, or Mastercam.
  • Understanding of dielectric and magnetic material properties.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a self-starting approach.
