Focus on developing regional business strategies, deploying SCADA and cloud modernization, managing performance and budgets, and guiding utility clients through complex transformation initiatives.

Location: San Francisco, California; Sacramento, California; or Central Valley, California. Workplace: Hybrid.

hirify.global Infrastructure & Capital Projects develops and delivers infrastructure and public-sector projects, including digital solutions for water utilities.

What you will do

  • Lead water-sector business development, strategic growth plans, marketing, sales, and new-business capture across the regional market.
  • Build relationships with government agencies, utilities, public authorities, strategic clients, and regional water organizations.
  • Drive digital water transformation initiatives involving smart water networks, IoT sensors, real-time analytics, digital twins, AI, and machine learning.
  • Guide EAM and CMMS implementations, SCADA modernization, cloud adoption, OT/IT cybersecurity, change management, and workforce enablement.
  • Manage regional project performance, budgets, reporting, operational compliance, utilization, revenue, EBITDA, and accounts receivable.
  • Oversee hiring, personnel development, culture, service quality, client feedback, and corrective action plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering, Public Administration, Construction Management, Information Systems, or an equivalent field.
  • 5+ years of experience in the water industry, digital water, smart utilities, or technology transformation programs.
  • Experience in executive leadership, people management, budgeting, professional-services KPIs, and relationship building.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, presentation, management, and budgeting skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, data analytics platforms, and digital project delivery tools.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree or professional credentials such as PE, CCM, PMP, CFE, COA, or LEED.
  • Experience with digital twin platforms, GIS, asset management systems, SCADA modernization, or utility analytics tools such as Esri, IBM Maximo, Xylem Vue, or Optera.
  • Familiarity with MDE, Virginia DEQ, or Delaware DNREC regulatory frameworks and regional water or wastewater utilities.
  • Experience advising appointed or elected leaders and working with boards, regulators, and the public.
