Director, Strategy & Corporate Development (AI)

Location: Santa Clara, California office; onsite

Annual base salary: $232,000–$371,000 USD, with potential incentive pay and/or equity.

What you will do

• Build a proactive pipeline of acquisition and investment opportunities across data and AI markets.
• Source opportunities and develop relationships with founders, investors, and advisors.
• Lead valuation, financial modeling, cross-functional diligence, negotiation support, and transaction structuring across M&A and venture instruments.
• Direct and develop Senior Manager- and Associate-level deal team members and establish execution standards.
• Assess adjacent markets and competitors to inform build, buy, and partner decisions.
• Define integration milestones, evaluate post-close performance, and prepare executive- and board-level materials.

Requirements

• 8–12 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, or venture capital.
• Substantial buy-side transaction experience and demonstrated end-to-end deal ownership.
• Strong financial modeling, valuation, transaction mechanics, deal structuring, and diligence capabilities.
• Ability to quickly develop technical fluency in enterprise infrastructure and apply AI tools to research, analysis, and transaction evaluation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for executive audiences.
• Experience directing junior deal team members and reviewing analytical work product.
