Senior Systems Engineer

Location: Remote within the United States; candidates must be located in AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, FL, IL, IN, MA, MD, ME, NH, NJ, NY, PA, TN, TX, UT, VA, or VT. Candidates must be able to work permanently for any US employer. Occasional travel, overtime, on-call, and non-standard hours may be required.

What you will do

• Design, implement, administer, and optimize enterprise systems and compute infrastructure, including Exchange, physical and virtual servers, Active Directory, Group Policy, Certificate Services, authentication, networks, storage, and remote access.
• Administer Microsoft Azure, Office 365, Exchange Online, Citrix VDI, load balancing systems, and SSL certificate management.
• Monitor system performance and maintain highly available, scalable, secure, and efficient infrastructure.
• Provide expert-level escalation support, participate in on-call operations, and perform scheduled and long-term maintenance.
• Develop technical documentation covering procedures, troubleshooting, training, change management, data flows, APIs, schemas, and integration logic.
• Implement security controls, assess and mitigate infrastructure risks, optimize integration platforms, and support data quality and reconciliation.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of enterprise Systems Engineering experience with Microsoft Server.
• At least 10 years designing, building, securing, and managing VMware virtualization environments, including ESXi and vCenter.
• Experience with hyperconverged infrastructure such as Nutanix, Dell VxRail, or HPE; enterprise storage using Block, File, and Object technologies; and backup and recovery platforms such as Rubrik, Cohesity, or Veeam.
• Expertise in Windows Server, Active Directory, M365, PKI, Azure, Entra ID, Exchange Online, Citrix VDI, TCP/IP, DNS, LAN/WAN, MPLS, VPN, VLAN, and Wi-Fi.
• Advanced PowerShell scripting skills, monitoring experience with SolarWinds, LogicMonitor, Splunk, or Aria, and knowledge of encryption, system hardening, and cybersecurity risk mitigation.
• A bachelor's degree in computer science, computer information systems, or a related field is preferred.
