Systems Engineer III - Microsoft Cloud and Infrastructure

What you will do

• Act as a senior escalation point for complex issues across Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Azure, identity platforms, endpoint systems, and backup infrastructure.
• Design scalable cloud, infrastructure, and identity solutions and recommend improvements to reliability, security, performance, and supportability.
• Administer and optimize Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, DFS, file services, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Azure Virtual Desktop, and Remote Desktop Services environments.
• Implement and support MFA, Conditional Access, identity governance, access management, endpoint security, and compliance-related initiatives.
• Administer backup and business continuity platforms, validate restores, and support disaster recovery planning, testing, and migrations.
• Mentor junior engineers, maintain technical documentation, communicate recommendations to clients, and drive operational improvements with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in systems engineering, IT infrastructure, or MSP environments.
• Advanced experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, file services, and infrastructure troubleshooting.
• Extensive Microsoft 365 administration experience and strong knowledge of Entra ID, authentication, identity management, MFA, and Conditional Access.
• Experience supporting Azure-based workloads, cloud services, backup platforms, and disaster recovery environments.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to mentor junior engineers and collaborate across functions.
• Ability to occasionally travel to customer locations for onsite support, assessments, onboarding, and issue resolution.

Nice to have

• Experience with Azure Virtual Desktop, Remote Desktop Services, Microsoft Azure administration, PowerShell automation, and Microsoft certifications.
• Experience with ConnectWise PSA, IT Glue, Datto, Axcient, Huntress, or SentinelOne.
• Experience supporting infrastructure migrations, modernization efforts, and SMB or mid-market environments in an MSP setting.
