TL;DR
Field Medical Advisor, Oncology (mRNA/Immuno-Oncology): Advancing scientific exchange around Moderna’s mRNA platform and oncology programs while building relationships across the oncology healthcare ecosystem, with an accent on clinical data, patient outcomes, and medical insights. Focus on supporting clinical trials, engaging investigators and KOLs, executing territory strategies, and translating healthcare needs into medical actions.

Location: Remote - US; travel up to 75% required. Only U.S. persons are eligible because the role involves access to export-controlled information.

Salary: $142,500–$256,500 annually. For positions that may be performed in California: $213,900–$246,100 annually. Additional bonus, incentive compensation, or equity may be available.

What you will do

  • Develop and execute oncology territory engagement plans aligned with medical priorities and customer needs.
  • Conduct peer-to-peer scientific exchange on hirify.global’s mRNA platform, oncology programs, clinical data, and research findings.
  • Build relationships with oncologists, surgical oncologists, KOLs, scientific societies, patient groups, payers, policymakers, and healthcare institutions.
  • Gather customer insights, identify unmet needs and data gaps, and inform medical strategy.
  • Support clinical trials, research collaborations, investigator-sponsored studies, site identification, and site staff education.
  • Execute advisory boards, round tables, conferences, partnerships, grants, sponsorships, and fellowship activities while maintaining compliance.

Requirements

  • Terminal degree in a scientific discipline, such as MD, PhD, or PharmD, or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of relevant clinical, research, therapeutic-area, or disease-area experience beyond the terminal degree.
  • Ability to conduct peer-to-peer scientific discussions and explain complex scientific topics to healthcare stakeholders.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, networking, presentation, organization, and independent-working skills.
  • Fluency in English and familiarity with U.S. and other regulatory environments, including FDA and EMA requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, virtual presentation platforms, CRM documentation, and compliance procedures; willingness to travel up to 75%.

Nice to have

  • Experience in melanoma, immuno-oncology, partnered or co-developed programs, field medical affairs, or Medical Science Liaison roles.
  • Scientific or medical publications and established oncology KOL relationships.
  • Knowledge of health economics, real-world data and evidence, digital-first engagement, AI-enabled tools, and innovative platforms.
