Senior Technician (NPD)

Salary: $57,600.00–$90,400.00 per year

hirify.global Corporation's Pierce Manufacturing builds customized fire and emergency vehicles, including pumpers, aerials, tankers, and rescue units.

What you will do

• Lead the fabrication, assembly, disassembly, and configuration of prototype vehicles, subsystems, and custom mechanical components.
• Test prototypes and current products using knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic vehicle systems.
• Troubleshoot system issues, perform basic failure analysis, and verify compliance with specifications and regulations.
• Document development issues and communicate observations to Engineering and cross-functional partners.
• Mentor fellow technicians, promote best practices, and implement continuous improvement projects.
• Plan daily activities, select appropriate test instruments, operate equipment and vehicles, and maintain safe work practices.

Requirements

• Associate's degree with five years of engineering experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Commercial Driver's License or ability to obtain one.
• Ability to travel 10%.
• Mechanic tool set and tool box.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, technical documents, safety rules, regulations, and operating instructions.
• Automotive and mechanical knowledge, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Seven years of engineering experience with an associate's degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience with aerial fire apparatus assembly, operation, testing, and diagnostics.
• Prototype development, heavy automotive vehicle assembly, fabrication, machining, or manufacturing experience.
• JDE or other ERP systems, Truckbuilder, MS Office Suite, or CAD/3D software such as CATIA or Creo.
• Experience coaching and mentoring technicians.
