Manufacturing Engineer - CNC Machining (CNC)

Location: Onsite in Wyoming, Michigan, with full-time reporting to Grand Rapids

What you will do

• Support high-volume machining and grinding operations, including equipment, tooling, and process improvements.
• Maintain manufacturing technical documentation and provide technical direction to internal teams and external vendors.
• Improve equipment efficiency, resolve downtime events, and address customer quality concerns through cross-functional problem solving.
• Support daily manufacturing and maintenance operations and help resolve safety and ergonomics issues.
• Deliver training and create technical manuals and work instructions for team members and maintenance personnel.
• Coordinate project activities to meet schedule and budget requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
• At least 5 years of engineering support experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of high-volume manufacturing and CNC machining processes such as ID grinding, OD grinding, drilling, milling, or turning.
• Experience with Microsoft Suite and AutoCAD or comparable engineering software.
• Ability to work off shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• Must work onsite and report to Grand Rapids full-time; GM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of cold forming, heat processes, or high-volume fabrication manufacturing.
• Proficiency with CAD software, statistical analysis, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Project management experience.
