Manufacturing Engineer

Location: On-site five days a week at the Pontiac, Illinois facility, United States. Domestic relocation assistance is available. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $97,530–$146,290 per year

What you will do

• Design, develop, and implement manufacturing engineering solutions for complex operations and sophisticated machinery.
• Identify and implement improvements to manufacturing equipment, processes, facilities, and production operations.
• Monitor equipment and process reliability, diagnose problem areas, and coordinate corrective actions.
• Lead engineering support for planning, development, operation, and maintenance activities.
• Provide supervision, coaching, and development for operations technical staff and support functions.
• Plan and manage equipment implementations, process improvements, capital projects, schedules, risks, and deliverables.

Requirements

• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, work-cell design, lean assessments, and continuous improvement.
• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, logistics, and manufacturing equipment, including setup, maintenance, diagnostics, and safeguards.
• Knowledge of manufacturing methods and processes, process documentation, technology monitoring, and methodology optimization.
• Knowledge of manufacturing safety, OSHA compliance, environmental requirements, hazard assessment, and corrective actions.
• Strong decision-making, critical-thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and project-management skills.
• Ability to work on-site five days per week in Pontiac, Illinois; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• CNC machining experience, including setup optimization, cutting-tool selection, and process improvement.
• Tooling design, tool management, and Zoller/tool-management experience.
• Smart manufacturing, connected manufacturing systems, data-driven monitoring, or digital transformation experience.
• Automation, collaborative robot, capital project, supplier management, or APQP experience.
• Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing experience.
