Manufacturing Project Engineer

Location: On-site five days a week at the Pontiac, Illinois facility. Domestic relocation assistance is available.

Salary: $112,710–$169,060 per year.

What you will do

• Support manufacturing process development, continuous improvement, equipment launches, production transitions, and lifecycle ownership.
• Provide engineering support for high-volume precision machining, CNC machining centers, automated systems, tooling, gaging, and process controls.
• Troubleshoot production, equipment, software, and application issues and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Optimize manufacturing processes and tooling while improving safety, quality, throughput, cost, and equipment reliability.
• Coordinate major manufacturing systems and projects across the plant, including installation, qualification, ramp-up, and readiness activities.
• Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Product Design Engineering, Maintenance, manufacturing engineers, operators, and suppliers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or extensive equivalent manufacturing engineering experience.
• Knowledge of manufacturing engineering, project management, capacity planning, CAD, technical troubleshooting, robotics, and computer-controlled machinery.
• Ability to analyze manufacturing data, identify risks, make informed decisions, and manage project cost, time, resources, and controls.
• Ability to provide technical guidance and communicate effectively with internal teams, operators, and suppliers.
• Ability to work on-site five days a week in Pontiac, Illinois.

Nice to have

• Experience with high-volume precision machining, including turning, milling, grinding, honing, ECM, or automated machining systems.
• Experience transitioning manufacturing equipment after NCI or capital project handoff.
• Experience leading equipment installation, machine qualification, production ramp-up, and manufacturing readiness.
• Experience with Power BI, SAP, or similar manufacturing systems.
• Experience improving safety, quality, throughput, equipment reliability, and cost performance.
