Principal Manufacturing Engineer (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Provide site manufacturing support for daily operations, process safety management, new equipment integration, and factory process improvements.
• Develop, implement, validate, and optimize manufacturing processes for efficiency, quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Analyze processes using Six Sigma tools, identify improvement opportunities, and lead projects that reduce waste and increase productivity.
• Create standardized work procedures, process documentation, CAD models, and design improvements for mechanical and electromechanical assemblies.
• Resolve complex manufacturing issues, support DFA/DFM and capital projects, and collaborate with suppliers, vendors, operators, engineers, and leadership.
• Lead and mentor manufacturing engineers while managing multiple efforts across production areas.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience of 12+ years in an engineering environment.
• Experience in process improvement, lean manufacturing, standard work, quality management systems, and project management.
• Knowledge of GD&T, metrology, materials science, elastomer manufacturing, and composite structures manufacturing.
• Experience at an aerospace component manufacturing site with ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100-compliant quality systems.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, people development, training, and independent problem-solving skills.
• This is an ITAR facility; active or inactive secret clearance, or the ability to obtain clearance, is desirable.

Nice to have

• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• Experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
• Active or inactive secret clearance.
