Manufacturing Project Engineer (Advanced Manufacturing)

Location: Sanford, North Carolina, United States. Onsite five days per week; temporary offices may be used during the transition to the new facility. High travel of 50–75% may be required. US domestic relocation is available.

Salary: $147,760–$221,640 per year.

hirify.global is developing an advanced manufacturing campus for compact track loaders and telehandlers, using automation, robotics, digital production systems, and integrated logistics.

What you will do

• Develop and launch an integrated Paint or Assembly production line from concept and line design through commissioning, validation, and production ramp-up.
• Own project scopes, schedules, budgets, technical requirements, risk assessments, supplier deliverables, and acceptance criteria.
• Lead equipment, tooling, fixtures, process controls, layouts, material flow, system interfaces, and line-level production performance.
• Implement automation, robotics, machine connectivity, digital work processes, error-proofing, and data-driven improvements.
• Coordinate operations, engineering, quality, maintenance, supply chain, facilities, safety, IT, suppliers, and contractors.
• Analyze capacity, cycle times, throughput, bottlenecks, production readiness, and process performance while developing standard work and operating procedures.

Requirements

• Knowledge of manufacturing engineering principles, systems, standards, processes, and operational improvement methods.
• Experience delivering manufacturing processes, equipment, capital projects, production-line installations, integrated systems, or automation initiatives from concept through startup.
• Experience with project planning, scope, schedule, quality, budget, supplier coordination, and technical delivery.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, PFMEA, control plans, root cause analysis, process validation, 5S, or operational excellence.
• Knowledge of robotics, automation, machine controls, connected equipment, and computer-controlled manufacturing machinery.
• Ability to work onsite in Sanford five days per week and travel 50–75% when required.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field.
• Experience with industrial paint systems, coatings, assembly production lines, digital work instructions, machine connectivity, production data, or smart manufacturing tools.
• Experience with robotic systems, machine vision, PLCs, HMIs, torque systems, conveyors, automated material movement, or Industry 4.0 systems.
• Experience supporting a new plant startup, facility expansion, advanced manufacturing facility, or major manufacturing transformation.
• Background in heavy equipment, industrial machinery, automotive, aerospace, durable goods, coatings, fabrication, or complex manufacturing.
