Manufacturing Engineering Manager (General Assembly)

Location: Onsite five days a week at the hirify.global Global Technical Center in Warren, Michigan, United States. Frequent domestic travel of at least 50%, potentially up to 50–75%, is required.

What you will do

• Lead and mentor a team of manufacturing engineers through project execution and production launch.
• Develop project plans, budgets, investment requirements, timelines, and forecasts.
• Lead equipment installation, construction, startup, and general assembly implementation activities.
• Monitor progress, resolve roadblocks, mitigate risks, and ensure delivery against quality and schedule requirements.
• Coordinate with strategic suppliers, operations, quality, supply chain, and product engineering.
• Support BOE alignment, brownfield integration studies, plant execution planning, and scalable automation initiatives.

Requirements

• 7+ years of manufacturing engineering experience and 3+ years in a supervisory or management role.
• Experience delivering manufacturing projects involving equipment installation and construction.
• Strong knowledge of processing equipment, throughput, manufacturing processes, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement.
• Experience with project management methodologies such as Agile and Six Sigma.
• Knowledge of safety regulations, engineering standards, bill of process, and bill of equipment requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; U.S. work authorization without current or future GM immigration sponsorship is required.

Nice to have

• Experience in high-volume manufacturing and with equipment reliability, maintainability, availability, and throughput.
• Familiarity with robotics, automation, data analysis, and statistical process control.
• Experience with general assembly BOE integration, brownfield studies, plant execution planning, read-across development, or GA standards.
• Master’s degree in engineering.
