Project Safety Manager - Heavy Highway

Location: Charleston, South Carolina, United States; construction site environment

What you will do

• Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific safety plans.
• Conduct site inspections and audits to verify compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
• Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions for project personnel.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents and prepare reports and corrective action plans.
• Collaborate with project managers and superintendents to integrate safety into construction activities.
• Maintain safety documentation and serve as the primary contact for project safety matters.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of safety experience in heavy civil construction.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and applicable safety standards.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced outdoor construction environment.
• A bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, crawl, bend, reach, climb, and work around high noise levels; occasional lifting of 5–20 pounds is required.

Nice to have

• Transportation construction experience.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills.
• CSP, CHST, or OSHA 30 certification.
