Regional Safety Manager (Construction)

Location: Sterling, Virginia, in the DC Metro region; work is primarily performed at construction sites and in office trailers.

Salary: $95,000–$140,000 annually, plus vehicle allowance and eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus.

What you will do

• Lead safety activities for project safety managers and teams across multiple commercial construction sites.
• Determine required safety equipment and safe work practices based on OSHA, MIOSHA, corporate, and project-specific standards.
• Develop and implement safety policies, programs, documentation, training, meetings, and motivational campaigns.
• Inspect jobsites, equipment, and working conditions; identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are permanently implemented.
• Investigate accidents and unsafe conditions, prepare reports, provide remedial actions, and maintain OSHA and MIOSHA records.
• Advise project teams and liaise with government agencies during inquiries and inspections.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Safety, Civil Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• At least five years of commercial construction safety experience on large-scale or multiple smaller projects, including experience managing direct reports.
• Strong leadership, communication, hazard recognition, analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
