Senior Systems Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Lone Tree, Colorado, United States; hybrid work environment with occasional travel

Estimated starting salary: $143,487.14–$197,294.82 annually, plus potential performance-based incentive pay.

What you will do

• Lead requirements engineering, systems integration, Verification & Validation, and Model Based Systems Engineering activities.
• Oversee complex system and decision analysis, technical planning, and risk management.
• Manage major project deliverables and support architecture and design development.
• Monitor technical performance and manage systems across the lifecycle.
• Influence project direction through leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Mentor and guide systems engineering team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; a higher relevant degree may substitute for experience.
• 10+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field.
• Expert proficiency with systems modeling and simulation tools.
• Proven systems engineering leadership experience and experience working in multidisciplinary design and development teams.
• Thorough knowledge of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation and allocation, systems design, integration, technical risk management, and V&V principles.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain required U.S. government authorizations.

Nice to have

• Experience with real-time operating systems, embedded systems, DOORS, Cameo, or MATLAB.
• INCOSE or CSEP certification and knowledge of MBSE standards.
• Aerospace and defense industry experience.
• Experience leading baseline definition, maturation, and high-impact trade studies.
• Knowledge of Technical Performance Measurements, Agile methodologies, or Scrum Master certification.
