Setup Technician I (Injection Molding)

What you will do

• Set up injection molding presses by installing molds, preparing auxiliary equipment, and following production schedules and work instructions.
• Adjust processing parameters, perform start-ups, and verify equipment readiness for safe and stable production.
• Monitor molded products for visual and dimensional conformity and take corrective action when needed.
• Remove, assess, clean, repair, and properly store molds and related equipment after production runs.
• Complete setup sheets, job packets, and special instructions accurately.
• Support waste reduction, throughput improvement, daily management, SQCD expectations, Kaizen, 6S, and other continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Competency with powered hand tools, fasteners, and measurement devices.
• Mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills in mechanical environments.
• Basic math, computer literacy, and data-entry skills; SAP experience is preferred.
• Ability to recognize and communicate quality defects and follow safety, quality, and ISO-compliant procedures.
• Ability to kneel, crawl, crouch, work in confined spaces, lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders up to 15 feet, and stand or walk throughout the shift.

Nice to have

• 3–5 years of mechanical or injection molding setup experience.
• Intermediate-level molding and processing skills.
• Experience with Kaizen, 6S, or waste-reduction initiatives.
