Job Developer

Location: Prince George, British Columbia, Canada; services are delivered at the WorkBC Centre and in the community at employer locations.

Salary: $54,300 per year.

What you will do

• Assess client eligibility and needs for Job Development Services and document findings in client case files.
• Create individualized service plans with appropriate follow-up activities.
• Match clients with employers and create opportunities including paid employment, volunteer placements, job shadowing, informational interviews, and work experience.
• Arrange and negotiate wage subsidy placements with clients and employers.
• Promote WorkBC employment services, assess employer hiring needs, and recommend suitable support.
• Attend and facilitate job fairs, employer networking events, Chamber of Commerce functions, trade shows, and community events.

Requirements

• Experience conducting and interpreting client needs assessments, coaching and mentoring clients, and supporting people with complex barriers and diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Experience building partnerships with employers, community agencies, and other stakeholders.
• Ability to market clients and employment services, identify employer needs, and develop effective job matches.
• Strong digital literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Understanding of confidentiality and professional codes of conduct; a criminal record check is required.
• Ability to work outside regular business hours, including evenings and weekends.

Nice to have

• Post-secondary certificate, diploma, or degree in a relevant field such as employment development, vocational rehabilitation, social work, psychology, counselling, education, or human resources.
• CCDP certification.
• French or other additional language proficiency.
• Social media proficiency and a valid Class 5 or 7 licence with access to a vehicle.
