Journeyman Electrician (Facility Services)

Location: Huntsville, Alabama, United States; onsite at the Walmart Supercenter facility

Salary: $33.00–$63.00 per hour, with possible premiums of $0.35–$3.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on facility electrical systems, equipment, fixtures, and related mechanical systems.
• Diagnose issues using blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs, then determine repair or replacement needs.
• Use hand tools, power tools, hoists, and material-handling equipment to complete repairs across multiple crafts.
• Manage work orders, maintenance logs, documentation, expense tracking, and contractor coordination.
• Respond to emergency calls and participate in on-call rotations.
• Operate and maintain vehicles and powered equipment while supporting process improvements and safety standards.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in the electrical trade.
• Licensed Journeyman Electrician or equivalent license in the state of work.
• Valid state-issued driver's license.
• License in a related trade in the city and/or state of work.
• Experience with preventive maintenance, electrical repairs, diagnostics, documentation, and facility equipment.
• Ability to follow OSHA and EPA requirements, respond to emergencies, and work effectively with managers, contractors, and coworkers.

Nice to have

• Completion of a 2-year vocational or technical trade program.
• Intermediate skills with word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software.
• License in a related trade where the job is located.
