What you will do
- Support the preparation and submission of financial and regulatory reports for Malaysian entities.
- Assist with statutory financial statements, regulatory returns, journal entries, supporting schedules, and working papers.
- Perform financial close reconciliations, investigate variances and exceptions, and support quarter-end and year-end close activities.
- Maintain reporting documentation and support internal and external audit requests.
- Collaborate with Finance, Risk, Tax, Actuarial, and other stakeholders to resolve reporting issues.
- Contribute to finance transformation, process improvement, and reporting documentation initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in financial reporting, regulatory reporting, audit, or accounting.
- Experience in insurance, reinsurance, and Takaful/Retakaful is essential.
- Knowledge of IFRS 9, IFRS 17, and basic regulatory reporting concepts.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; willingness to develop technical expertise in financial and regulatory reporting.
Nice to have
- Professional accounting qualification or current ACCA, CPA, or equivalent studies.
- Experience with SAP, Power BI, or other ERP systems.
