Intern - Lease Accounting

What you will do

• Review lease agreements and verify that key lease information is accurately captured.
• Validate lease information recorded in ProLease and identify discrepancies for review.
• Maintain lease administration records, trackers, and supporting documentation.
• Prepare and organize ProLease reports and summaries of reviewed leases.
• Support the validation of short-term and low-value leases that are not capitalized.
• Complete an improvement project using automation and AI tools to make lease reviews more efficient.

Requirements

• Degree in Accounting.
• Basic understanding of accounting concepts.
• Interest in data analysis, automation, and process improvement.
• Good Microsoft Excel skills.
• Willingness to learn and ability to work independently.
• Work location: Penang, Malaysia.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of IFRS 16 or ASC 842 lease accounting standards.
• Exposure to Power Query, Power BI, or AI tools.
