Mechanical Design Engineer (Nuclear)

What you will do

• Develop detectors and sensor products for radiation monitoring, industrial sensing, and downhole technology applications.
• Create and review detailed component and system designs against new product specifications.
• Analyze, test, and verify designs for technical robustness and harsh-environment performance.
• Apply Design for Six Sigma and Design for Manufacturability practices throughout the product development process.
• Coordinate project tasks with project managers, functional managers, product line leadership, Quality, Manufacturing, and other teams.
• Develop design best practices and support technical discussions with customers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a similar field.
• 2–3 years of design engineering experience; sensor design experience is preferred.
• Experience with a CAD package, preferably SolidWorks.
• Experience with product development processes; Stage-Gate experience is preferred.
• Ability to solve problems, translate cross-functional inputs into design outputs, decompose requirements, and author technical reports.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance and product safety considerations in design.

Nice to have

• New product design experience.
• Experience with an ERP system such as SAP.
• Professional certification held or in progress, such as FE, EIT, or PE.
