Design Engineer (HVACR)

Location: Sidney, Ohio, USA; based in the Sidney office

What you will do

• Design and analyze compressor assemblies, subsystems, components, and other commercial air-conditioning products.
• Create and verify 3D CAD/CAE models, engineering drawings, design layouts, bills of materials, specifications, and assembly documentation.
• Perform static and dynamic analysis, material selection, design optimization, engineering calculations, fit-up checks, and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Lead design efforts for sustaining and new product development projects, ensuring compliance with product requirements and program charters.
• Collaborate with engineering facilities globally and support engineering labs, manufacturing, Supplier Quality, Procurement, and Advanced Manufacturing.
• Lead project teams, mentor peers, plan priorities, solve design problems, and deliver quality engineering outputs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least one year of design experience with rotating machinery or relevant industry experience.
• Experience creating CAD models for layouts, assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, and prototype or production drawings.
• Experience with 3D CAD software such as Siemens NX, SolidWorks, or Pro/ENGINEER.
• ASME Y14.5 geometric dimensioning and tolerancing knowledge for engineering drawings and design verification.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States is required; visa sponsorship is not provided.

Nice to have

• Five or more years of relevant experience.
• FEA, CFD, or other engineering analysis experience.
• Knowledge of HVAC, high-volume manufacturing, prototype components, fixtures, or Teamcenter.
• A record of innovative and patentable ideas.
