TL;DR
Mechanical Engineer – Applied Mechanics Lab (HVACR): Supporting laboratory testing, product development, supplier qualification, and failure analysis for HVACR mechanical components and systems with an accent on test fixture design, instrumentation, durability, vibration, fatigue, and engineering data analysis. What you will do

  • Support product development, supplier qualification, and customer failure analysis projects across the HVACR product portfolio.
  • Plan and execute laboratory testing for mechanical components and systems.
  • Design test fixtures and experimental setups, including instrumentation and data acquisition.
  • Analyze engineering test data and provide technical conclusions and recommendations.
  • Investigate product performance and durability issues using mechanical engineering principles.
  • Prepare technical reports, present findings, and improve testing methods and laboratory capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 0–2 years of engineering experience, including internships or co-op experience.
  • Strong experience with 3D CAD software such as NX, SolidWorks, Creo, or CATIA.
  • Working knowledge of Strength of Materials / Mechanics of Materials, engineering test interpretation, and technical data analysis.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States is required; visa sponsorship is not provided.

Nice to have

  • Experience with mechanical testing, instrumentation, data acquisition systems, manufacturing, or design engineering.
  • Exposure to fatigue, vibration, durability, failure analysis, structural mechanics, or finite element analysis.
  • Experience with MATLAB, LabVIEW, Python, Minitab, statistical analysis, engineering calculations, or technical report writing.
