CNC Machinist II (CNC Machining)

Location: Irving, Texas, USA; onsite, 2nd shift

Smiths Interconnect designs and manufactures high-performance interconnect solutions for aerospace, defense, telecommunications, and industrial applications.

What you will do

• Set up and operate Fanuc and HAAS CNC milling centers using Mastercam.
• Read blueprints, sketches, drawings, specifications, and sample parts to determine dimensions, tolerances, operation sequences, and setup requirements.
• Machine components to close tolerances using gauges and inspection techniques.
• Document setup and operating information with written descriptions, sketches, and photographs.
• Train junior operators and apprentices and perform additional assigned tasks.

Requirements

• 3–7 years of manual machining and CNC setup and operation experience with conversational programming.
• Ability to read and understand complex machine and component drawings.
• Ability to speak and read English and understand verbal instructions.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, self-motivation, and ability to work with limited supervision.
• Ability to train others and work overtime or weekends as needed.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in Mastercam software.
